Ali & Drew | Scottsdale Wedding House Party

Hello! Long time no see! I'm a little embarrassed because it's been way too long since my last blog. And I'm even more embarrassed because this beautiful wedding right here was already SIX months ago! Six months?! Where has the time gone?! I wish I had some really good excuse for my hiatus, but I don't. I got overwhelmed with life and I have already traveled more this year than previous years, so there's that.

But what better way to get started back up with my blog, than by wishing these two a VERY Happy Six Month Anniversary, right?!

Ali and Drew's #weddinghouseparty was one of THE BEST weddings that I've been to, and not just because they're good friends of mine. Everything about their day was so relaxed. They rented a gorgeous AirBnB mansion in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, complete with a gigantic swimming pool, an in-ground hot tub, and modern art. Since Ali works for La Tavola, I knew the table linens would not disappoint and combined with the talents of the team at Bloom + BluePrint they transformed the already beautiful backyard into the perfect wedding venue. From the minute that I walked in I could tell that all they expected out of the day was for it to be one huge party in celebration of them [finally] tying the knot!

Their bridal party was made up of long-time best friends, with some of the bridesmaids knowing Ali since the fifth grade. Not only were these girls attentive to her all morning, but they were offering to help me too, bringing me water and sharing food and just being simply awesome! And you could tell that they've all known each other for years, they've shared more jokes than anyone could count, and they've been with each other through every celebration even if it was just in spirit. These girls even printed a photo of one of their friends who couldn't make it, put it on a cute wooden stick, and gave it to Ali so that friend could be "in" the photos. It was hilarious, but also so sweet! And another long-time friend completed the bridal party by taking on the role as their ceremony officiant!

When it came time for portraits, we had planned on going to the Civic Center in Old Town, but plans were derailed by multiple festivals that day. I told Ali and Drew I had a backup plan involving a very pretty garden but it happened to be behind a dog park...and without hesitation, they both laughed and said, "We trust you, let's go!" In keeping with the relaxed atmosphere, friends and family simply gathered and stood around the pool in the backyard to witness the pair saying "I do!" Dinner included a Mexican-themed buffet and music was played by a live band. Although the only activity planned for the night was the party itself, Ali's dad toasted to the pair by poking a little fun at them and telling the story of how at the age of three, Ali was already full of sass and would put a hand on her hip and tell her parents and brother, "You're not the boss of me!"  When one of the groomsmen joined the band for his rendition of "Wagon Wheel," Ali and Drew finally shared their first dance as husband and wife by the pool, which turned out to be a perfect replacement for a dance floor.

They envisioned a house party for their wedding, and their vision was flawlessly executed but more importantly, it was FUN! BEST. HOUSE. PARTY. EVER!

Happy Anniversary Ali & Drew! Love you two!!!
