Kelly & Taylor | Salt River Arizona Engagement
Meet Kelly and Taylor, another one of my 2018 couples! I was introduced to them by their wedding coordinator, and my good friend, Lara of Laki Events and Design. I emailed with Kelly for a bit before we met for coffee, and as we sat and talked about their garden-style wedding I could tell that they were a very down to earth couple who knew exactly what they wanted out of their wedding day. They met while working at a pizza shop together six or seven years ago, have been together for about three years now, and they got engaged earlier this year! Kelly described them as "a tad on the nerdy side" as they are big fans of Star Wars. Such big fans, in fact, that they're wedding day is May 4th....get it? "May the 4th be with you!" I have to admit though, I just recently sat down with my husband and started watching all of the Star Wars movies, because neither of us has seen all of them and I've turned into a pretty big fan myself, so I completely understand where they're coming from. I also completely understand now why every kid wants a light saber and is obsessed with Yoda.
But back to this beautiful couple....Kelly and Taylor decided on Salt River in Mesa, Arizona for their engagement session which turned out to be a great choice because we had some surprise visitors just for them! The Salt River is known for being an ideal location to spot wild horses, and I've been hoping to see them while shooting a session there and it finally happened! I think all three of us got a little distracted when we spotted them but the horses didn't spook and we got plenty of time to catch them in a few of their engagement photos. Kelly and Taylor's love for each other is undeniable, and I loved getting to hang out with them during our session. The best part was when I noticed that Kelly had Star Wars storm trooper masks with her and I said, "Please tell me you planned on wearing those in your photos!" Talk about a fun couple! No need to feel nerdy at all, because it's little things like this that really give a little peek into a couple's relationship and just how cute they are together!
